We first tried this tasty Italian appetizer at Buzzo’s a local pizzeria.
Fennel Butter Ingredients
Makes enough for 6 crostinis.
1/2 cup butter
6 tsp fennel seeds
1 garlic clove, peeled and chopped
salt, to taste
pepper, to taste
Fry up the pancetta and set aside to drain.
Melt the butter in a call pan.
Add the fennel seeds and cook for 1 minute.
Add the garlic, stirring so garlic doesn’t burn, and cook for 1 minute
Squeeze the juice of the lemon into the pan and stir, cooking for another minute.
Add salt and pepper to taste.
Lay pancetta on Crostinis. Drizzle with the fennel butter.
